Hope the first day of May is treating you well! I'm currently being attacked by some ruthless allergies while I study nonstop for IB tests coming up this week, but it's okay! Summer (and graduation!) is almost here. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Anyway, so I made this fabric bunting that I think turned out so cute! I love the way it adds a little character to a room/entryway. The hardest part is picking the fabrics! After that, this project is pretty easy.
Materials:
- fabric of your choice
- triangle cardboard cut-out (the size you want your flags to be)
- pencil
- scissors
- sewing machine
- wide ribbon
Step 1: Use your cardboard cut-out to trace two triangles on the wrong side of the fabric. Cut them out, then place them on top of each other with right sides facing. Sew a seam around the edges, leaving a three-inch or so slit in the top side of the triangle. Turn the flag inside out, then sew a border around it, closing the slit in the process. Continue making flags until you have as many as you want.
Step 2: Lay out your flags so that their upper corners are touching. Cut a piece of ribbon about 8 inches longer than the line of flags. Fold the ribbon in half over the top side of each triangle and pin. Leave about 4 inches of spare ribbon on either side of the bunting. Sew along the ribbon to bind it to the flags.
Step 3: Take two pieces of tape and hang it wherever you please!
