Customized Composition Book

Well, like it or not, it's back-to-school season. The bright spot: new school supplies! But that doesn't mean you have to spend extra at the store. All it takes is a little creativity! I took a regular ol' composition notebook and simply covered it with a pretty piece of scrapbook paper! I love how it turned out.

Flip open the front cover of your composition notebook and align it in one corner of the wrong side of your scrapbook paper. Trace around the edge with a pencil. Cut along the lines, but don't cut the rounded corners. Cut 90 degree corners instead, so your end result is a rectangle.

Cover the front of your composition notebook with mod podge, focusing on corners and edges. To avoid getting mod podge on the pages, lift up the cover while putting mod podge close to the edges.

Align your cut scrapbook paper carefully, then paste it on, smoothing out all the air bubbles.

Now cut the rounded corners. Cutting them now gives you a more precise result. Trim any overhanging scrapbook paper.

Do the same for the back cover of the notebook.

It's finished! Feel free to embellish further, maybe with stickers or washi tape! If you're feeling adventurous, try painting a little square of chalkboard paint on the front of your notebook to make a mini chalkboard or use a whiteboard sticker to make a mini whiteboard!

As a side note, if you like my computer background or want to see others like it, download them at Design Love Fest for free!
