Pumpkin spice. Nothing is safe from it this time of year. The first thing that comes to mind, of course, is Starbuck's famous pumpkin spice latte. Everyone goes crazy for it! I much prefer the pumpkin spice steamer, but that's just because I don't like the taste of coffee (sorry!).
Did you know you can make your own pumpkin spice soap? Yep. You bet you can. There is no end to the limits of pumpkin spice.
Let's get right to it!
- Goat milk soap base
- Soap mold
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Microwavable measuring cup with spout
- Optional: soap dye (red and yellow)
Step 1 Start by cutting out chunks of goat milk soap base and placing them in the measuring cup. I worked with 4 oz. of soap base at a time. Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments until all is melted.
Step 2 Add in the pumpkin pie spice. I used a little less than a tablespoon for every 4 oz. of soap base.
Optional: Add a few drops of soap dye to achieve the color you want. I added more of an orange tint to the brown color of the pumpkin pie spice using a few drops of red and yellow dye.
Step 3 Pour into soap mold.
Step 4 Let set for about 40 minutes. Remove from soap mold. You may have to use a knife to loosen the soap.
Step 5 Cut out strips of fall-colored scrapbook paper and tape around the bar of soap.
I really like how these turned out! And wouldn't they make perfect fall gifts?
