Fall Craft: Painted Craft Pumpkin

7:43 AM

Chances are you're going to have guests over sometime this season. I know I'm going to have family over for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. What better time to show off your craftiness with some fall-themed DIYs for your guests to admire? This painted craft pumpkin is very simple and leaves a lot of room for you to be creative and add your own touch to it. Pinterest has countless ideas for painting craft pumpkins. I for one really love this design. You can't go wrong with gold!

You'll need one craft pumpkin (any size, really) and gold and white paint.

Paint one coat of white paint on the stem and top of the pumpkin. Painting the pumpkin white before painting it gold makes the gold look a lot better. Use a thinner brush to paint the scalloped edge.

After that, paint a coat of gold on the body of the pumpkin over the white paint. I had to paint multiple coats on until it was a solid gold color. Keep the stem white, using 2-3 more coats of paint.

After it's dry, trace the edges with white paint.

Stay tuned for more fall crafts, DIYs, and recipes!
