Spring is in the air!
In case you didn't realize, March 20th, last Friday, was the first day of spring! So, this week I decided to show you how to make two DIY flower hair accessories that you can wear this season! (See? I kept my promise from my last post.)
1. Flower hairclip
This is a really fun and easy craft, and the end product looks so nice in your hair during the springtime! All you need for this one is:
- an artificial flower
- scrap felt
- a hot glue gun (and glue sticks)
- a hair clip
- scissors
First, trim the stem off the flower.
Next, cut a small circle out of your scrap felt. Fold it in half and cut two small slits.
Push the hair clip down into the first slit and up through the second slit.
Now, using your glue gun, put a glob of glue between the two slits and stick on your flower.
Voila! You're done! Simple, right?
2. Flower Headband
For this one you need:
- artificial flowers
- ribbon
- a hot glue gun (and glue sticks)
- an elastic hair tie
- scissors
First, cut the elastic hair tie.
Next, place one end of the hair tie on the ribbon, folding the edges over. Secure with glue.
At this point, I wrapped the unfinished headband around my head and trimmed the elastic hair band to a suitable length. Then, glue the other end of the hair tie to the other end of the ribbon.
And now... embellish!
Ta da! You're done! Now go embrace spring with open arms!
